The Movies Emptied My Wallet

The movies are officially out of control. I say this because we went to a matinee today (11:40 showing) of Robots. Tickets were $7 for adults and $6.50 for kids. WTF is up with that!?!? I expected the kids to be less then that. Greedy ass Hollywood for ya!

piper.gifThe movie was good. I thought visually it was extremely well done. The story was nothing amazing but it was funny. I enjoyed it a lot. Typical little jokes that only the adults get. My favorite being the “plugs” and “sockets” to designate bathrooms. Only on screen for a second, but someone had a funny sense of humor with that one!

And for some reason the character of Piper (the yellow one shown here) really made me think of my buddy Tam. I’m not sure why. I think it had a lot to do with her attitude and outlook on things, but every time she was on screen I kept thinking about Tam. It was strange and fun.

Almost as soon as we got back Laura had to head out to work. The kids were not that happy about it. Never fun when Laura works on a weekend, but it was an open shift so she grabbed it since she hadn’t in a while.

So left for me tonight is a PILE of dress shirts and pants that need to be ironed. A podcast to record. Some movie watching with the kids and not much else. For some sick and twisted reason I’m looking forward to the week ahead. It might have something to do with my flat panel shipping or it might have to do with something else. Who knows….
