Organizing My First Concert

Give Love a Chance Poster

Who knew it was such a pain in the ass to organize something as simple as a little concert. Over the past few weeks as I’ve geared up to do some shows in Boston and all the while working with Craig to make this happen at the Expo, I’ve quickly realized that this is a bitch of a game.

If you want to see a bigger version of this little poster I made I have a printable flyer version over here.

The hardest thing with this one in particular was finding a location. We’d find a place but it would be too expensive. The next place too small. We found a very cool location but they already had an act booked for the night. I respect them for not rescheduling the band, but I wanted to see about getting that band to open up for these guys. Would be some great exposure for them.

In the end it all worked out. I got to talk to different people about sponsorship, I’m learning about artists needs and just kind of figuring it all out as it goes along.

Of course I’m just psyched because it’s acoustic and I’ll be podcasting it right off the sound board. It should make for some good listening. I’m hoping the guys tag team up on at least one tune. That could sound good, but it all depends on the vibe and what songs they know. We shall see.
