A Day Away
My parents came down for the day yesterday. It’s not often that you have a 70 degree day in November here in New England, so being inside was against the rules. I didn’t even turn on a computer, cell phone or anything else. Hell, I haven’t even checked my inbox(s) yet this morning. I know I’ll have a ton of stuff to do.
As much as I love technology, getting away from it from time to time is NOT a bad thing at all. Even a few hours is good, but a full day is even better. Hell, I can’t wait till next summer when Dad and I head up to the Boundary Waters for 7 days completely away from the world. THAT will be nice!
Absolutley nothing on the family calendar for today. Matthew Ebel is on the stereo right now. Laura is finishing up the paper, the kids are playing and here I am on the laptop with my second cup of coffee besides me. All in one room and happy as it should be. And did I mention that I sat here while Dylan read “Green Eggs and Ham” today? If you know me, then you know that made my day.
I know what I should do. Should make sure this laptop is all up to date with server passwords, e-mail hookups and patches for the trip to the Podcast Expo later this week. I don’t use this laptop as much as I should.
And dinner…..Hmmm……we had plans but no more. I should make something new.
