The extremely talented Andrew Darlow took this photograph just before we sat down to record PodShow Music Rewind #8 poolside at the Sheraton in Ontario, California. It was really one of the highlights of my weeked as it was the first time we all met face to face at once and sitting down and doing this live was something insanely fun!

The Portable Media & Podcasting Expo was certainly everything I thought it would be and more.

I’ve got to say that going in I wasn’t sure if having PodShow on my badge was going to cause some people to go “oh he’s one of them” towards me. Thankfully there was none of that. At least not to my face. *grin*

The best thing about the entire weekend was that it was a level playing field. It didn’t matter who you were or what your podcast was. Everyone would talk to everyone. Drinks were being bought for podcasters of every shape and size. You’d see groups of people randomly stopping and talking as if they had known each other forever when in fact they had just met.

There are too many good souls to list that I met. The stack of cards I need to go through is insane and as I looked through them last night it brought back smiles going “Oh yeah I remember him or her…”

What’s important now is to take the energy and community that was built there and keep it going. Next year the event is going to be bigger. The shows more diverse. The companies in the game even higher in number. We talked about this one night and someone said “Yeah, get to know us now when we are nice.” He was joking, but it’s a valid point. Everything changes after this. Let’s keep it going in the positive direction!
