EMP & Rain
Well, everything they say about Seattle is true!
I walked over to the Experience Music Project this morning. Swung into the first Starbucks I saw as it seemed like something that needed to be done.
It was a nice walk over. Brisk and cool, but nothing bad.
I just kept walking towards the space needle and was told I couldn’t miss it. They were not kidding. it’s a big random blog of curves, metal and cool colors. I actually thought it was pretty neat.
Inside is great. It’s expensive, but sucking in the vibe of music was awesome. Very cool Dylan and Hendrix exhibit going on. My favorite thing was the journal entries and the pieces of smashed guitars. Really brought it all home. It also made me smile to see young kids getting into the exhibit. Good to know they can still appreciate the music!
As I got there it had started to mist and when I left it was raining hard. And damn was it cold. I was stumbling around looking for something to eat when I found the 5 Point Cafe. They had all sorts of random signs and I wasn’t sure about it, but this guy who turned out to be the owner convinced me to go in.
I’m so glad I did. A plate of fried Mac N’ Cheese started it off with a cup of hot strong coffee. I followed it up with the Blue Plate Special which was a mound of home made meatloaf, mash potato and gravy all over it. DAMN it was good. I’m still smiling from how yummy it was.
I thought about grabbing a cab back to the hotel, but it wasn’t worth it. A walk in the rain would do me good. Even though it chilled me to the bone.
Dying out now and trying to figure out what next. Hours before anything is planned and I’m not sure where to have dinner yet.
