10 Years of Foo
Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the start of Random Foo Pictures. I’m not sure we thought we’d make it ten days, let alone ten years.
It has been a fucked up, strange, tiring and down right fun trip that we’ve been on and I’m happy to say that it is NOT done yet.
Sometime last year Dan and I were sitting around and we talked about having a big retirement party for Foo this weekend. We thought it would be fun to do it and move on. But, as we talked more we realized we were both full of ideas and ways that this could evolve into something else. We are still having those discussions, but even though your not seeing movies coming out left and right things are moving. We keep talking about ways to embrace new technologies and you will be seeing and hearing from us. That much I know.
I’ve made so many friends and worked with so many cool people over the years. Some I’ve never met face to face. Most I have. I’ve been to South Dakota to hang with them. I’ve had them travel to Virginia to work with me there. The amount of talented individuals both behind and in front of the camera is staggering.
The true indie film world is alive and well. People come and go but the desire to make entertaining movies purely for the love of doing it will never go away. Anyone who says otherwise just doesn’t understand it.
10 years…..it still blows my mind when I stop to think about it. And I can’t wait to give Dan a hug later today when I see him. Can’t wait to see Joe and anyone else that might be around today. Thinking about all this brings a HUGE smile to my face!
