A Great Final Day

PMN Artist Jamie AffolkToday was the actual day of the conference. The day that Podcast Day 2006 happens and the reason I came.

Pictured here is me with Podsafe Music Network artists Jamie Affolk. It was classic because she was in my session and mentioned being an artist so afterwards I asked where I could hear her music and she sort of laughed and pointed me to the PMN. I loved it.

The session was interesting to say the least. I was certainly the good guy of the group and the one really promoting the rights of the artist. It’s too bad because the session felt very slow and we did not get into nearly as many of the topics I had hoped for. But, there never seems to be time and it’s just a good reason to continue the talk.

Weirdest part was having the little translator. I’d notice the crowd reacting to something and 10 seconds later I’d hear what it was. A strange effect, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it might be.

After all the sessions there was a mini beer garden. The beer was flowing, the meatballs were good and the sausage were interesting. But, the best part was it gave everyone a chance to mingle, talk and get to know each other a bit better. There was some powerful networking going on and some decisions made that are going to have lasting impressions across the board I think.

Calling It A NightTonight a group of us went out for “real German food.” It is amazing that you sit down and before you can blink there is a beer in front of you. I love this country!

I’ve learned a lot while I was here. The biggest thing I think is about always looking someone right in the eyes when you raise a glass and say “PROST!” It’s a nice touch and one I think I’ll bring home. It adds a little something extra to toasting that you don’t have in the states.

Oh, and I had no idea American’s eat differently, but we do. Trust me I was told so! *grin*

Tomorrow it’s breakfast with the gang in the morning and then we go our seperate ways. I’m hoping to get on an earlier train out of here so that I’m not rushed at the airport. I’ve been told that it shouldn’t be a problem to switch so hopefully it is not.

Germany has been VERY good to me. I hope to return someday.
