Daddy Day
First off a very happy Daddy Day to all the fathers out there. I know some great ones so I hope like me you didn’t spend any time on the computer today and instead had nothing but a fun filled day of QT with the family.
I got in last night so the kids hadn’t seen me. So when they woke me up this morning it was extra special. Of course the French toast and coffee was nice, but the Globe West section of the Boston Globe with the cover photo of Dylan and I podcasting was beyond the icing on the cake. You couldn’t wipe the smile off my face.
Since I get to pick everything we do today I decided that it was time for us to see Cars and it was a good call. Yet another fun movie from Pixar that had me laughing out loud at parts and a truly sappy ending that I didn’t expect to be quite so sappy. It was nice to chill with the kids and they loved the movie as well. CLASSIC end credits!!! That’s all I’m saying.
I’m still very distracted. Gram isn’t doing so hot and it seems to be getting worse rather then better. It’s going to be in the back of my mind always. Had a little moment today where it got brought to the forefront in a way I wasn’t ready for or wanted to hear. But, it’s water under the bridge and nothing that a quick power nap in one of the chairs out back couldn’t fix.
Just finished cleaning up from dinner. Corn on the cob with BBQ Steak Tips and Lamb Kabobs. Mmmmm…..especially when washed down with a classic “villager.” Craig would be proud of me.
