Jason Calacanis is my new hero. I saw him give an amazing keynote at last year’s PME and his blog is something I always stay up to date on.

Yesterday though as the Rocketboom shit hit the fan he blew me away by making a real job offer through a blog post to Amanda Congdon. That takes balls and is so dead on the money for the new world we are living in that I have to give him props. That is awesome.

But, then this moring I read his post on keeping talent happy and once again I couldn’t stop smiling.

He brings up some very important points that I think any manager in anycompany should keep in mind at all times. People love jobs for more things then just the money. We all want more money no matter how much we have, but we also want new challenges and the ability to grow and try out new things. I know for me personally that’s more important then anything in a job. A cool title? A big office? Nothing if the job isn’t rewarding.

Way to go Jason and best of luck Amanda wherever you end up!
