Cleon Goff Invades Canada

Not that I needed it, but I took part in further proof of the reality of Six Pixels of Separation today.

I was chilling in Second Life checking up on some things when an IM popped up from Mitch Joel asking, “Where you at?”

Mitch & IWe got together and started chatting. Turns out that Radio Canada TV was going to be interviewing him shortly about Second Life and he wanted me to play tour guide. How could I say no?

Soon the producer of the segment was controlling his avatar and I was picking places from my landmark folder and teleporting her around. This was going to serve as background footage behind Mitch while he was being interviewed.

And wouldn’t you know it that just as we started our buddy Julien started a conversation with me on gTalk? Everything was right in the world. *grin*

I took them first to Midnight City (which was too dark go figure) so then we we went to the HipCast Conference Center, swung by Samurai Island, a couple of shopping spots, my office, a winter wonderland somewhere and then ended up just chilling at a random Zen like furniture store I found.

It was a lot of fun and I can’t wait to see the video.

So, is my Avatar now famous in Canada? Of course not, but I find it rather funny that a 3D figure running around with a black “independent” t-shirt on and the words “Call me C.C.” floating over his head is going to be on Television in Quebec. Makes me smile.
