I'm kind of let down by their second album (Evanescence). The first album had a lot of production value, but the second one, having listened to it most of today, feels REALLY overproduced. Maybe it's just me, or maybe I've been listening to too much acoustic and raw stuff lately. Amy Lee's voice is still fantastic, which is why I wish whoever was in charge of post over there at Windup would just let her sing without all the studio tricks. I've seen the DVD of the live tour and she can sing just fine without the gimmicks. Of the new tracks, Lithium comes the closest to what I really liked about their debut album's sound. i:scintilla is the closest Podsafe in terms of musical match, but I have to say, Munk's acoustic "I Am" is the closest in terms of emotional rawness.
