The First Day of Year 34
Yes, yesterday was my birthday and I had an awesome day on all fronts.
It was pretty chilled on the celebration front. We went out to a Mexican restaurant that I enjoy and had a great dinner and then came home for cake and presents. The kids have decided that they want me to really get into fishing (which is NOT something I’m into). Their logic was summed up by my daughter who said, “Well he already has the canoe….”
Laura rocked out and got me The Complete Far Side. The kids couldn’t understand how I could open to a random page in a book and start giggling of control. Then they asked me to explain the comic. Like that is going to happen! Ever try to explain a Far Side to someone? You either get it or not.
It was also a big day for crayon as we had a kick off meeting with a client that I’m one of the leads on the project for. It went very well and I’m excited about it for numerous reasons that I can’t go into at the moment.
We also released a machinima promo for Crayonville yesterday. I’m happy with how it turned out and it was great to work with the extremely talented Tao Takashi on this. It’ll be fun to play with it to make a shorter version and perhaps some other mashups of it. We’ll see what happens.
Today I’ve got some meetings and plenty to keep me busy. Looking forward this looks like another great year of change and growth on all fronts and that is the typical blend of excitement and fear all wrapped up in one.
Did I mention that I listened to the final episode of The C.C. & The Man Show on my iPod yesterday as well? Dan surprised me with that one and I’m still smiling from it!
