Kicking Ass and Taking Names
I woke up ready to take over the world today. Not sure why, but I’m also not going to question it. Waking up full of motivation is a great thing. Especially when all I wanted to do was stay under the covers cuddling with Laura this morning. That was comfy.
I’m in the middle of recording Accident Hash right now. Playing the Kevin Reeves and Geoff Smith highlights from the night which is fun to hear again. Of course I can’t play the best track of the night when they covered “Enter Sandman.” That was so much fun! Geoff Smith is singing “Not on the Radio” as I type this sentence. Yup, I multi-task all the time.
It still amazes me how much I get done before some people are even awake let alone at their desk. That’s a good feeling. Of course I also feel that I’m working way past people and going to bed later then some as well. It’s a weird balance that I’m figuring out each and every day.
I’ve also got to get the gym back into my schedule. It’s been missing since we got back from Nashville and I miss it. I miss the health benefits, but also the energy boost it gives me and the hour of clarity I have as I listen to a podcast, work out and can’t be bothered by anyone. That’s a powerful time and I need to find it again.
I was organizing my calendar and noticed I’ve got trips to Toronto, Chicago, Philadelphia, New York and California on my calendar before the end of the year. Fun stuff.
I’m so glad I’ve gotten back to these early morning brain dump posts. In a strange way they really make me focus.

Ahhh…I live for days like that! Sometimes it seems that the more I have on my To Do list, the more productive I am. I do usually find, that the earlier I get up (read= before rest of the family) the more I get done and the more focused I am. At other times though, the mountainous list seems to be overwhelming…
I’m coming off a particularly unproductive day yesterday (production problems, little things just going wrong or not working out, meetings, etc.) that I went to bed and also I woke up in a funk this morning. Surprisingly,
I had a very productive morning with the kids at school today and was totally “on” despite dragging myself there. Picture me wired on coffee and green tea running from desk to desk to give high-fives for right answers
I’m hoping that I can ride that wave by getting right down to business the minute I walk in the door after school and make up for lost time yesterday. Now, if I could only control those unexpected Mommycab duties and other things that happen just because the first hat that I wear is Mom.

“It still amazes me how much I get done before some people are even awake let alone at their desk.”…..Does that still count if I am six hours ahead of you?
