Revised 80-20 Rule to Get Out of a Funk?
This morning I got a Google Alert about an episode of Beach Walks With Rox linking to me. I had never heard of the show, but after watching it was inspired to record an episode of Managing the Gray. Turns out that my computer had other thoughts and wasn’t in the mood to work so I decided to record a video response instead. I’ll push it out over the MTG Feed as well and see what people think of a little video new media playground fun.

Awesome advice… It’s good to hear “just slow down” every once in awhile, especially when there is a constant flow of information online (twitter, the ‘blogosphere’, etc.) that pushes folks to do otherwise. I know I’m guilty!

Here’s to all of us getting out of our funks.. I’m in one right now and have been hitting the pavement to get some exercise and fresh air which helps, and also unplugging to do some reading of REAL books before bed each night to shift my brain off and into sleep mode. I’ve got the countdown going until school lets out and I start my Summer Life

Been following you on Twitter. Your response to Jared Spool, regarding the monetizing frenzy, is right on.
Why does everything have to make tons of money, and why do pundits insist that everything generate revenue or the platforms and communities are doomed?
This psycho-capitalistic mammonism is a total aberration and is not conducive to innovation or experimentation, the very foundation of all progress.
I see greedy eyes flashing with cashly lust, the ignorant jerkbags lusting to (1) make a lot of filthy lucre (2) scramble toward their “exit strategy” (3) abandon the project.
Pathetic morons.
Creativity must never be the lowly slave of money-worshippers.

i left my first comment over at MTG…and really appreciate you CC for mentioning Beach Walks. These comments here (and in so many other places) tell me that there is a huge groundswell of people wanting to think/live/work different.
It’s just a daily practice I think to tune out the group mind messages that have been passed on for so many generations, and one of the reasons I love new media. We get to keep reminding and supporting each other, validating what used to be silly or unrealistic ideas.
P.S. I too like to go analog and read before bed to change mental regions. I just wish I could last a little longer than 3 paragraphs!
