It’s rather shocking that it took this long for politicians to wake up. Especially if they want to reach the younger voters. It’s going to be fun to watch how they leverage things like this and Twitter.

Text messaging made its foray as a campaign tool for the 2008 American elections, reports The Wall Street Journal, when Senator Hillary Clinton asked supporters to register for text-based campaign updates.
