Nice piece.  As wired and connected as I am, I, too, cherish the moments *disconnected* and away from all the technology.  For me, those moments are usually hiking in the mountains of New Hampshire or Vermont, or canoeing/kayaking on some river or lake - or up on some land my family has in northern N.H.  It's definitely good to get away and remember the world outside of our technical space.  I hope you do get a chance to spend more time up there.
