I LOVE mine as well- I have a shock mount, and lets the mike swing in and out as I need it- much easier than when I was using a desktop stand. Got a great deal on ebay as well.

C.C., Yes, I've been a user of that same boom for about a year and a half now and do love it. I got mine a bit cheaper over at BSW USA:

http://www.bswusa.com/proditem.asp?item=PL2T

I found it after looking around at all the other ones that needed to be screwed into my desk and I couldn't do that with my particular (Ikea!) desk. There is also a "riser" for it ( http://www.bswusa.com/proditem.asp?item=RS1 )that would elevate it over the monitors (except maybe yours! :-) but it seems that the riser needs to be screwed in instead of using the C-clamp.

I do use a shock mount that came with the microphone. Works great.

What I also like about this one is that it has a ridge (sort of like a spine) that runs the whole length of it that you can insert the microphone cable into so that it is hidden and not hanging tout all over the place

You can get them a bit less expensive if you search google or go to a Ham Radio Swap that Bob Heil is displaying at. I got mine for $95.00 at the Dayton HamVention. Here is Heil's own website price of $99 .. http://www.heilsound.com/amateur/pl-2t_ham.htm

The Model number to search is PL-2T.

It's a great boom! Holds my MXL770 just fine and keeps it where I want it. Now to get the Heil PR40 mic to go on it :)
