Kathy Maister Hosts No Reservations Screening

Last night was a fun night. It started off with a Boston Tweetup, then some of us migrated to the Boston No Reservations screening that Warner Brothers and StartCooking.com hosted and ended at Boston Billiards with a few of us just sitting around and talking about all sorts of things into the wee hours of the night. All around it was a great night.

The movie wasn’t what I thought it was going to be. Based on the trailers I figured a straight up romantic comedy, but it actually had a deeper story then that. Nothing special, a perfect date movie and something I’m definitely going to rent because I know Laura will enjoy it. I guess I’ve been watching too much Hells Kitchen because I was rooting for more yelling in the kitchen. The little girl in the movie steals the show. Made me come home and give Emily a big hug!

If you haven’t seen it yet, Kathy actually made one of the signature dishes from the movie on StartCooking. I haven’t tried it yet, but since I’m a huge fan of scallops I can’t wait to give it a try. I might be even more excited about the Saffron Sauce though as it just looks downright YUMMY! No one else in the family eats them though so it’ll be a solo lunch or something.

Not only was it great to see some old friends, but it was great to see so many people involved in social media at an event like last night. Kudos to Warner Brothers for realizing how great of an opportunity this was and reaching out to the community.

I sat next to and chatted with an amazing food photographer and blogger named Nika Boyce that I’m really looking forward to talking more with. OH! I can’t forget to mention that I also got to meet THE Phantom Gourmet last night. They were at the screening as well which was pretty cool in my book.

Great to see you again CC! I had similar thoughts about the movie, though the word “deep” didn’t enter my brain.

Great seeing at Beerwork. I LOVE the shot you took of me and Amy.

You say you met THE Phantom Gourmet, but I find that hard to believe since the Phantom is a secret.

A great night indeed. This person was introduced to me as THE Phantom but who knows. I sure don’t. :)
