It is important to be aware of things like that. Carpe diem, gather the day, seize the day! Your entry made me think that it is important to set priorities and to remind yourself doing that over and over again.

Somehow, I find myself in your words.

Thank you for sharing - as always.

Oh time with family always comes before pretty much everything. That is one type of time that I will not sacrifice. More then one person has asked me how I make the time and that is easy. You turn off the computer, cell phone and everything else and just do it. All the "other" stuff will wait for family time and if it doesn't then you get rid of it :)

I totally agree with the passage of time. I can remember, as I am sure we all do, that our parents used to say "When you get older, time goes by even faster". But I was thinking no way! Heck we had 3 MONTHS of summer fun! Some days we thought dragged by. Remember staring at the school clock in your last class for the day, intently concentrating on making the time go faster. But now, at 34, and 2 kids, I agree with my parents. Time seems to fly faster and faster as I get older and yet, I hear my little ones say, how many more days until we go to school, or how many more days before we go to the beach. When I reply 3 or 4 or X, they say "oh man, that's like forever!".

Wait until they get older and I am sure they will be agreeing with their old farty parents.

Transition points, such as your move to the new house, are helpful for making important changes. If you had to choose between being caught up on all your social networks and your family, it would be an easy choice, right? I've enjoyed reading about and seeing pictures of the time you've spent this summer with your family. My best memories of childhood are the times my self-employed dad set work aside and took us places just to have fun. You don't get a second chance at that.

I would like to hear how you restructure your time when you move, CC. I'm finding that I actually accomplish more when I get adequate sleep and hush that nagging internal voice that keeps me connected to a computer far longer than is productive.
