Favorite Photos of 2007

The Flickr Blog has been discussing people’s favorite shots of 2007 and of course that got me thinking about my personal favorites. NOT an easy thing to narrow them down to just one, but here are some of my personal favorites that I took this past year. (FYI – I submitted the first one to [...]

Shaking Off Christmas Cobwebs

As I shake off the cobwebs from the computers that I left off during Christmas it left me smiling at the fun week this has been. I was very happy that both my parents and Laura’s parents could make it down for part of the holiday. That really adds to it in my book. I [...]

Merry Christmas

Because I don’t plan to spend a whole lot of time online over the next 48 hours I wanted to wish everyone I know a very merry Christmas. I love this time of year, but it is also a time that I remember some of those that are no longer with us and this year [...]

Chapman Christmas 2007

The holidays really started for me yesterday as we held the Chapman Christmas at our house. Every year we get together with my family, my aunt’s family and my grandmother. Still weird for her not to be here for the celebrations and the pork pie. But, she is always on our minds.
The night before this [...]

Black and White Christmas

I went out earlier today to take some photos of the house, woods and snow. I love how it looks when snow collects on trees. I wish the lighting had been a bit better, but everything was gray so I decided to shoot for black and white instead. Weird how it doesn’t look a whole [...]

One Laptop Per Child – First Thoughts

I got home late last night from NYC and saw it sitting on the counter. A box that I knew contained my part of the Give One Get One promotion from One Laptop Per Child.
I had heard that people were having some trouble connecting it to wireless networks so a few minutes ago I gave [...]

Day 1 of Year 35

I’ve thrown around the term “new media nomad” once or twice and I said it as a joke one day to highlight the point that it really doesn’t matter where you physically work these days because thanks to technology you can be pretty much anywhere and still be productive.
Right now I’m riding the Acela train [...]

Another Year Walking the Earth

I honestly forget how old I am sometimes. I think you get to a point where it is not as big of a deal anymore. Sure, every ten years is a big milestone, but in between does it really matter? It doesn’t a whole lot to me.
But, what birthdays always do is cause me to [...]

Do Snowmen Get Stressed?

In the last weeks of the year the stress level around me seems to raise. With everyone running around making holiday plans, shopping and then add in good old New England weather and people get stressed. This year has been no difference. I see it everywhere I go online and off line. People have a [...]

Miami FINALLY Wins

Yes, this made my weekend. Especially since Laura roots for the Ravens
Miami has had a horrible season so this was a great win indeed!

Alive in Baghdad Reporter Killed

I know the team behind Alive in Baghdad pretty well so when I read this news I was speechless.
These guys are DOING what new media is suppose to be about. Sharing stories and giving insight into the things that mainstream media is overlooking. Giving a voice to the stories that need to be shared.
To have [...]

Snowy Wilson’s

Wilson’s Diner in Waltham, MA is one of my all time favorites. I discovered this little blue slice of heaven when I attended Bentley.
Breakfast all the time, home fries always ready to go and ownership that is always smiling. What else do you need?
Situated right on Main Street it is a local staple.

Snow Stress

I’m still stressed from the snow.  We ended up getting a good 9-10 inches total of the fluffy white stuff.
I had lunch plans with Scott Monty yesterday in Waltham at this awesome little diner called Wilson’s. We were to meet at noon which would give us plenty of time to get home before the storm [...]

Pseudo MIA

I’ve been a bit MIA lately and I can tell that by people and family dropping me notes asking how I am. This blog is still used mainly to keep my extended friends and family updated and is the first place they go to know what I’m up to.
The simple truth is that I’ve been [...]

Starting to Enjoy My Voyager

Lots of people seemed interested in what I thought about the Verizon Voyager phone that I recently purchased. As I’ve said before I wasn’t that into it at first, but after using it some more I’m starting to get use to it.
My biggest problem with it was that I didn’t get notified when I [...]
