Help Fix PodShow

posted on June 28, 2007

I had a very interesting call with some of the gang from PodShow today. It really gave me some new insight into the whole campaign they have going and I feel so into it I even registered FIXpodshow.com to help my listeners and readers give their opinions. I recorded this video right after I got off the phone with them.

I’ve always told it as it is and thus this video is blunt and honest. I also say a couple of bad words so it has a strong PG-13 vibe in it. Unless “shit” makes it an R rated, but I think not. I did tag it as explicit just to be sure.

It is old school and there is nothing fun or interesting about it. Help them find a fun new creative way to get the information they need.

Emailed you privately about this – looking forward to a response.

The survey would suck less for this Canadian podshow user if I wasn’t getting this answer when trying to fill it up:

“Thank you for your interest in our site. We are currently only accepting signups for those in the U.S. but will be expanding to accept international members in the near future.”

Rob, I haven’t got any e-mail from you yet at any account. Where did you send it?

Also, found out that the survey is only US at the moment for a number of logistical reasons. They are going to create one on a much bigger scale which is good since we all know that podcasting is global.

Sent it to cc.chapman@gmail.com. Weird. Ok I just forwarded to your Crayon account – hopefully that will get through…

I refuse to listen to Podshow. I have unsubscribed from LifeSpring! just so I would not have to listen to the name Podshow. I applaud Adam Curry and Dave Winer for the innovation, but when the word Pod and Show were put together as a business model, forget it.

I do appreciate your honesty in video. I have listened to your show once. I follow your Flickr pages and Twitter feed, but the whole Podshow mode turns me OFF. You have to make money at this somehow. Think of something more innovative.
