The Sting of Reality

posted on January 12, 2007

It’s been a rough couple of days for me. Mainly because I’m not feeling all that well. It’s not a cold, the flu or anything else. Just an all around feeling like ass that I can’t seem to shake no matter how much sleep or get or food I don’t eat. Maybe I just need a good workout or something to break it. Some how I’m thinking that won’t help.

On top of that I started writing several times a blog post that I was calling “Fuck You Very Much President Bush”, but that I kept stopping writing because it was pointless and wouldn’t change anything. I just hate seeing that every day this idiot in the White House continues to dig a deeper ditch for America around the world. I’m proud of my country and love living here. But, as long as that jack ass has been in power he has done NOTHING to help the world’s perception of us. That’s scary when you think about it.

One glimmering of goodness is that crayon is winning some new business and I got to order the new Laurie Jones CD so I’m looking forward to the future. The mailman also just dropped off the book Made to Stick that Britney Mason reccomended I read. Yes, an avatar gave me a book recomendation and I followed it. Weird world we live in right?

So, here I sit feeling yucky, wondering what to attack next. The list is long and full of choices. *grin*

The winter blah’s from not enough daylight, perhaps? Or maybe too much going on and you’re a bit fatigued (you’ve had quite the whirlwind the last sixty days or so)?

Whatever it is, I hope you’re able to shake it soon.

I think the weather in this part of the world going from 70 degrees down to 10 and back about 3 times is tough on the body.

I think John Rogers put it best, as noted by Wil Wheaton:

George Bush is Leeroy Jenkins…That video summarizes in two minutes what’s it felt like watching Bush for the last six years.

Two words for you CC…. BUTTERLY EFFECT. The whole point of blogging is to write what you feel. Somehow lately I think you’ve not been doing that. WRITE WHAT YOU FEEL!!!

And, yes, W is an asshole. Watching him send yet more troops while a friend of my family sees their 20 year old son come home in a body bag. Yeah, WRITE WHAT YOU FEEL.

    Hey CC-
    Reality can suck.
I really had to laugh when I read your post. Not because of what you wrote but how much I felt the same way and worse yesterday.
My wife and I and the whole family put our dog Bear to sleep yesterday. One of the hardest things we ever had to do. He has been sick and it was time. He has been part of the family for such a long time. So then when that terrible time was done I got a call from my buddy who owns the Sierra Nevada House in Coloma California. I had just seen him at MacWorld and I thought he was calling to shoot the shit. Well, he said he had some really bad news -He had just come from our house which is across the street from him. He saw water running down our driveway. Our poor vacation rental that we could not afford and spent the last 2 years fixing up with our own hands had 2 water pipes explode in the cold weather and the ceiling collapsed ruining evrything in the house. Carrie and I had just composed ourseleves and laughed. What else could happen on this cold cold day. As we drove up to meet the insurance adjuster a rock flew up and cracked our windshield on our new Toyota Prius. All I can say is thank god for insurance. Heres to a better rest of 2007. We are off to hoist a few in Bearboys honor. Keep blogging CC!
