Speaking more outside the fishbowl is a great idea. We can only benefit from encouraging and helping others to learn more about this stuff. That’s where the growth is, both personally and professionally.

I went from being a (mostly) happy restaurant bookkeeper to being an employee in a CPA firm. A complete change of culture and complete destruction of my 5 year plan. I love the new job so far, but I have not yet stopped being amazed by how quickly and abrupt the change was. I know how you feel about not mentally being prepared for a new job.
