Iron Man Movie

Growing up I read a lot of comics and Iron Man was always one of my favorites. I think that is why I love this newest trailer so much for the movie. Dylan and I already have plans to see it.

Going Back to Bentley

My morning started off with a fun little moment as Emily came into the office to give me a hug and looked down at my moleskine and asked, “what is that?”
She was looking at a sketch of wire frame I did last night around a project I’m working on. Real fun explaining it as she […]

mDialog Becomes a Client of The Advance Guard

Recently I went to NYC for an all day kick off meeting with a new client, but at that time couldn’t talk about who it was. Well, now I can.
The company is called mDialog and the quickest way to sum them up for me personally is that they provide high-resolution video hosting on the web. […]

Photography Workshops

My good buddy Chris Marquardt has taken the success of his podcast Tips From the Top Floor and branched out into live weekend long workshops where you can learn hands on how to take better pictures. Last year I really wanted to get to one of them, but it never quite worked out.
But, then today […]

The Importance of Family Time

Anyone who knows me even a little bit knows how important my family is to me. I can obtain success in every other part of my life, but being a dad will always be the single coolest thing in the world to me. If that ever changes, then something is wrong in my life and […]

Not the Friday I Wanted

Today was suppose to be a really fun day, but that sort of got sidetracked by a bunch of factors.
Biggest was the snow we’ve been having all day. It has been a constant falling of big white fluffy flakes all day. The roads haven’t been touched a whole lot since most people are staying inside […]

3:30 am Coffee

The coffee always tastes strange at 3:30 in the morning. At least in my world it does today.
Up early for a quick train ride down and back to NYC today. Have an all day brainstorm and kick off with a new client. It has been an interesting couple of weeks for The Advance Guard as […]

Reflections in Pancake Puddles

There is something very soothing about putting Edwin Derricutt on the iHome and making pancakes for the family on a Sunday morning. At least for me there is. I just sat back as I waited to flip the latest batch and smiled at where things are right now for me. It felt good. Sure, I’ve […]

Our resident community specialist Christina helped organize games of online trivia using our client’s service TriviaOnNet.
I’ve been having a good time playing this through Facebook and on the web, but it is SO much more fun playing against people you actually know. This was the first time I’ve done that and […]

$10,000 College Scholarship

How did I miss this? I was catching up on reading what my friend Chris has been up to and I saw this video. I instantly e-mailed my nephew who is currently applying to schools and said, “Fill this out now!”

In signature Chris Penn style this video simplifies it down so that anyone can understand […]

Busy, Busy, Braindump

So much going on, but wanted to drop out some things on my mind so you know I’m alive and kicking.

Published Accident Hash #259 this morning featuring new music from David McMillin
If you haven’t yet, check out the online multiple choice trivia games from Trivya. They are a client of The Advance Guard, but their […]

An Interesting Experiment

My ooVoo Day was an interesting experience. I did my two hours today and here is one of the screen shots I took.

I’ve got a lot more thoughts, but no time to write them down right now. Thank you to everyone who took time out of their day to swing by and say hello. It […]
