Photography Workshops

My good buddy Chris Marquardt has taken the success of his podcast Tips From the Top Floor and branched out into live weekend long workshops where you can learn hands on how to take better pictures. Last year I really wanted to get to one of them, but it never quite worked out.

But, then today I got a message from him that he is doing again and even released this video showcasing the fun at one last year.

This year they will be held stateside in San Francisco, Nashville, Fort Collins and Portland. You can find out more and register on Discover The Top Floor.com. I’m really hoping to go to the one in Portland because a) I love Chris to death and he has certainly been a photography mentor for me and b) I want to take better pictures!

If any of those locations or dates work for you, I highly suggest thinking about attending. Chris is a great teacher and an all around great guy. You won’t be dissapointed.

I think I first heard about him from Media Artist secrets.. seems like a million years ago now.. but only started to listen to his podcast (along with TWIP) in the last couple weeks as I’m gearing up to buy my first camera and lenses… there’s quite a knowledgeable community in those forums… I can’t wait to take my first steps into photography.. I’ve been sooo jealous of you DSLR carrying, Flickr going, folks for sooo long! But soon, all will be well in the world, accept then I’ll only have to be jealous of you workshop going bastards! Ahh, it’s never ending I tell you!!!

Let me know if you’re going to Portland - It looks like something I’d like to go to as well. It’ll be nice to know someone there.
