Busy Week: Here, There and Everywhere

This week felt like a bit of a whirlwind. Coming off last weekend at PodCamp Boston 3, I entered into a non stop pinball game of tasks, deliverables and meetings. As I sit here on the couch with my morning cup of coffee and nothing immediate that I have to do I figured it was the perfect time to catch up on everything.

I had a really good time at PodCamp. It had been a while since I spoke and that really gave me an energy boost to do it again. Talking to a full room of people and changing it into a massive Q&A session felt good. If I was to do it again though I would have done a quick 10 minute presentation to really set a foundation for what I was talking about. I did it without the slides, but looking back I think they would have helped. Always be learning right?

I’m so glad that Steve Coulson captured this photo of the opening of the presentation because it really captures the emotion of it all. I did a little tribute to my friend Mitch Joel who last year kicked off our presentation with a crowd raising primal scream. Since he couldn’t be there this year I wanted to carry on the tradition.

Middle of the week I had to head to Pittsburgh for the day. With all the storms going on that night in New England it made getting home a little rough, but all in all a long productive day. As long as at the end of the day I can look back and feel good about what was accomplished it is all worth it to me.

This week also included me going into the Fox 25 studios to film an interview for a piece they are doing on the changing face of customer service. It is scheduled to run here in the Boston area on Wednesday night’s 10 pm news. They put all the stories online, so I’ll be sure to post it when I find it.

As if all that wasn’t enough, The Advance Guard took a new step this week as I signed the contract on setting up the first Boston area office. It is an exciting step and I’m looking forward to moving in and getting things set up. Feels good all around.

So that was my week in a nutshell. I’ve always said that I’d rather be busy then bored and I’m certainly keeping busy!

It was great to see you speak in person CC. I just listened to SPOS #113 and Mitch gave a shout back in recognition of the primal scream. Having been there in person made the comment by Mitch that much better. He is also wondering where 6 lbs of sound has been hiding out ;)

Thanks for doing what you do!

ps: If Steve could have panned left about a foot, I would have been in frame :)
