My Omnivore Hundred

I first heard about The VGT Omnivore’s Hundred from my buddy Julien Smith and being a guy who loves to try new foods it instantly peaked my interest.

The concept is simple, someone put together a list of 100 different foods they think you must try in your lifetime. The ones that are bolded I have eaten at some point and the crossed out ones (none in my case) are ones I’d never consider eating.

There is even a FAQ available for reading.

It is a rather interesting list for sure with a variety of food types from the simple to the fancy. I knew what most of them were, but several I had to look up and now I’m curious. I’m psyched that I get to try Poutine this weekend at PodCamp Montreal.

    I figured out my 100 also…(website link above). I am surprised that I’ve eaten as much of it as I did! Right now #99 is my favorite.

    I had some Pho with Chef Mark yesterday in chinatown here in Manahttan. Next time you’re in the area, make sure to ask Mark about where to get some good Pho!

    Taabishs’ Mom here commenting on your food list…
    Next time you are at an Indian restaurant you can also get Salted Lassi and Paneer (usually served in the spinach titled ‘Palak Paneer’). Thai Pepper in town has a great Tom Yum soup. I believe Phaal is the Urdu word for Fruit which you have definitely had…I hope!

    Hey CC-

    I can’t believe you haven’t had gazpacho or heirloom tomatoes! Every year, we belong to a community supported agriculture farm that grows over 70 types of heirloom tomatoes- and I often use them in my Gazpacho, so we’ll have to have you up next summer and do the farm-tasting menu a la Hoffman and fill in those gaps for you!
