Portland Photography Workshop – Day 1 & 2

posted on August 29, 2008

I’m attending a Tips From The Top Floor photography workshop in Portland, Maine and learning a TON. The focus for this workshop is studio photography which is something I’ve never done before and I have to say that while I don’t see it becoming a focus of mine, I have a new found appreciation and curiosity about it all. I sense a simple lighting kit in my future for sure.

Below are some of my favorite photos I’ve taken in the first two days. Can’t believe we have another two to go. I’m learning so much and having a great time. Full set (that will be added to as well) here.

I have no experience shooting in a studio environment, it looks like you are getting a good education there.

I love to photograph people but I tend to avoid using flash because I still don’t feel like I can control it enough. I could definitely use some education on lighting/flash and using them on purpose.
