Our Last Summer All Together

Time is flying by and while I refuse to start counting days, I know there are not many left. Dylan begins college in the fall and the emotions that come with preparing for it have been hard and swinging. We are a tight family. I hug and kiss my kids goodbye and good night every day....

Watching My Kids Grow Up and Away

The moment you add an event to your calendar titled "Dylan & Dad's College Road Trip" you know that emotions are going to be a bit messy. Not as messy as last week when an entire week worth of Senior events was added including one titled "Dylan Graduates." We even had to go and buy him...

Words and The Days To Come

Words have been hard to come by lately. No, that isn't exactly true. There have been plenty of words, but I've been writing them down elsewhere. Leaving this spot alone. They've been anger fueled and tinged with a layer of neon orange slime. Not the words I want to share. Not the energy I want to throw out...

Why I Chose To Be Part Of The Women’s March

Men and women are different. That doesn't mean they shouldn't be treated equally. Around the globe this weekend, on all seven continents, millions of humans marched. Each who chose to show up did so for their own reasons. My reasons were simple. As a father, I marched to show my daughter that I support her. I wanted...

Paying For College

It is a proud moment in any parent’s lives when their child is accepted to college. The moment our son received his acceptance letter to his first choice will never be forgotten. You get to check off another accomplishment proving that you did ok as parents. Soon after the hugs and fist bumps were done...

Stop Creating For The Algorithms

I've been outlining my keynote for next month's IzeaFest and one of my scribbles reads "stop creating only to satisfy an algorithm." The more I pondered it and how I might represent it on a slide, the more I realized I wanted to write about this specific epidemic because it bothers me to my core. There...

2017 Is Here. Now What?

The calendars have been flipped and 2017 is upon us. A fresh start and we don't know if the car is going to crash over the cliff, handle all of the curves or keep on driving off into the sunset. I'm full of worries for the world around me. Anyone with half of an open mind...

The Press Hotel – Inspired By Writing

Letters pour off the hallway walls as you walk to the elevator. Typewriters hang on the wall and hold menus for you. You are not in some hipster gin infused dream, but find yourself at The Press Hotel in Portland, Maine. I awoke there recently and noticed that the desk chair had the familiar "The quick brown fox...

My 2016 in Photos

Out of all the things I create, I enjoy pulling together my year in photos the best. Scrolling through all of the photos I take and share brings back memories of the little things I forgot. The trips that blend together. The faces, places and meals shared. These roundups are not of my "best" photos, but...

In The Holiday Giving Spirit

In our family, we know the importance of helping others. Our kids have been exposed this their whole lives through various fundraisers and activities. They've walked 5k, climbed up stairs and seen me go on humanitarian trips. When Heifer International reached out to me about partnering for a post about giving it was easy to say...

A Puppy’s First Play in the Snow

Emotions are impossible to perfectly put into words. The only reason we are able to even begin to encapsulate and share with others is because the human brain has experienced similar things before and can fill in the blanks for us to understand. This morning I felt the most pure form of joy that I've felt...

Millennial Exhibitions has high hopes for their European inspired holiday marketplace known officially as 'Boston Winter presented by Berkshire Bank’ at City Hall PlazaCity Hall Plaza. Today, we were given a behind the scenes tour to see what is being assembled for all of New England to enjoy. I've had the pleasure of walking through holiday markets...

Work Doesn’t Get Done Unless I Do It

When Thanksgiving leftovers begin to be annoying is when I become reflective. Looking back at the year that is beginning to end. Pondering over missed opportunities. Smiling at the memories that warm my heart. Wondering what might have been and marveling over what was. The truth is, I learned some hard lessons over the course of...

Legacy

Sunday morning I sat and watched Brad Meltzer speak to a packed room of english teachers. He spoke of the legacy we leave and how we each leave one behind that we'll never know. The end of 2016 has been a life changing one for me that I know will have effects on my legacy that...

One Last Rant For Bob

Friday morning I poured a cup of coffee, grabbed my phone, turned on the local news and plopped down on the couch the same as any morning. Sip the coffee. Turn on the phone. It is a process that happens most mornings. My phone was full of messages and wiping away the night I quickly realized that...

I Hate

Human nature fascinates me. I made a decision months ago to take the day after the election off. No matter who won, I knew that emotions would be raw and I didn't want to be part of any of it. I chose yesterday morning to post two simple words on my social profiles and then turned...

Relief Bed – Improving the World With Better Sleep

Products that are well made, serve a need in my life and make a social impact on the world are my favorite to own. So when Relief Bed offered to send me one of their sleeping pads for review in exchange for a review, I instantly said yes. The concept of a Relief Bed is simple. It is a...

Lots of Little Things Rambling On

I've never been much of a baseball fan. Going to games is a lot of fun and when the air gets colder and the playoffs begin, I'll tune in if it gets interesting. Last night watching the Cubs win was something special. Craziest game of playoff baseball I've ever seen. What a great few hours to escape...

The Woods Call

Every spring and autumn the woods call for attention. The bugs are gone, the tourists home. The woods are emptier, more inviting and eager for those like me who wander. The crack of gunfire echoes around me and I know that I have to choose wisely where I travel, but there are more than enough options. Granted, the thought...

Violence

Last night, The Walking Dead answered the question of who would be brutally murdered with a barbed wire wrapped baseball bat in the hands of a twisted man. I watch the show and was ready to be emotionally torn to shreds. It was as painful to watch as I expected. Violence is a weird thing. People react to...

Why I Write

Today is the National Day on Writing. This day was founded by the National Council of Teachers of English on the premise that writing is critical to literacy but needs greater attention and celebration. To me writing is a core part of who I am. The voices, ideas and worlds in my head have to be let out or else they...

We Have To Show Up

I was having a conversation with Seth Godin recently about writing and among all the nuggets he said, "The cost of what we do is we have to show up." We were discussing his daily blog writing and my wonderment at how he does it. It stuck with me like a thorn. Nagging at me to face...

Stop Shouting. Start Doing.

Jaz Joins Our Family

"What if we swing by Baypath and see what they have for puppies?" Laura asking me this while out running errands is how the story of Jaz began. I grew up with a black lab named Popeye. You know the story of Roxie. Dogs will always be a part of my life and Labrador Retrievers will always...

Bio

Sketch of C.C. Chapman by Hey Instigator! There are many aspects OF who I am and what I do. Putting together THIS PAGE is one of my least favorite things to write because talking about myself is not my idea of a fun time.

When asked what I do my current answer is, “I create, teach and motivate people to do more good in the world.”

Of course, that doesn’t cover all that I work on professionally and personally, so that is why I created this page.

Official bios and headshots can be found below.

Who is C.C. Chapman? I’m a…

Writer

I’m constantly writing and always working on my next book. You may have read some of my published works including Amazing Things Will HappenContent Rules or 101 Steps to Making Video Like a Pro.

Freelance writing or citizen reporting assignments excite me.

Photographer

If I had to choose a style, I’d say my photos are a mix of documentary, travel and lifestyle photography. While I may not enjoy taking head shots, I love to shoot faces. I rarely go anywhere without a camera in my hand and I’ve been fortunate to see my photos on the pages of Rolling Stone and The Wall Street Journal.

I’m currently shooting with a Canon 80D, an iPhone 7+ and a Chroma 4k Drone.

My photos can be found on Instagram and Flickr.

Marketing Consultant

With over twenty years of marketing, online media and community building experience I have the skills and experience to help your organization no matter the size. Previous clients have included The Coca-Cola Company, American Eagle Outfitters and HBO.

I focus on social good/impact marketing, content marketing and brand strategy. My favorite clients are NGOs, nonprofits or brands looking to make a difference in the world.

Feel free to double check my credentials on LinkedIn.

Keynote Speaker

I’m happiest when on stage educating and inspiring an audience of any size, anywhere in the world.

I have spoken at everything from large international events, corporate retreats and at special gatherings of unique individuals. If you need someone who will inspire, educate and entertain your audience I’d love to chat.

Advocate & Volunteer

I believe in using my skills, time and voice to champion causes that are important to me. I’m especially interested in anything military, dogs or children focused.

I’m currently the President of the Board at Wediko, a member of the ONE Girls & Women Advisory Board, serve on the board of The Hockey Foundation and recently joined the No Kid Hungry Social Council.

Teacher

I’ve developed and taught courses for Lynda.com, CreativeLive and Treehouse. I’m also an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at Bentley University and hoping to do more teaching in the future.

On top of all that I’m a proud life long New Englander who was born and raised in New Hampshire, but now resides outside of Boston.

I married my high school sweetheart, have two amazing kids and love being a dad.

I’ve been online since 1989, began blogging in 2002 and podcasting in 2004.

Previous endeavors I created include Accident Hash, Passion Hit TV, Digital Dads and The Advance Guard.

Tattoos, travel and the outdoors turn me on. There are fewer things more perfect than a well-done cocktail, a delicious meal or live art of any sort. I love my GORUCK, Field Notes and am a proud Misfit.

To understand me is to understand that I try to live a purposeful life every day that is full of adventure, love and making the world around me a better place for all.

Official Bio

C.C. Chapman describes himself as a New England raised storyteller, explorer, and humanitarian. Others have described him as a thought leader in the online marketing space, a grounded futurist and one the nicest guy on the Internet. Over the years of his career, he has worked with a variety of clients including Nike, HBO, American Eagle Outfitters, ONE, Verizon FiOS and The Coca-Cola Company.

He is the co-author of the International bestseller Content Rules and is also the author of Amazing Things Will Happen. Fun Bio

You’d be hard-pressed to find a more multi-faceted or enthusiastic creative/strategic partner in the marketing and content creation fields. This greatly hails from C.C.’s unstoppable combination of marketing experience and savvy (which a great many professionals claim to have), and incalculably valuable “on the ground” knowledge and insight as an influential content creator himself (which a great many professionals do not). The result is a best-of-both-worlds mashup of marketing expertise.

C.C. Chapman sports the pro cred to be a talker (working closely with such clients as American Eagle Outfitters, Coca-Cola, HBO and Warner Bros.), and the passion and gumption to be a doer (creating content for the emerging Online Dad market, marketing professionals, music fans and more). He’s helped create, manage and execute ambitious online and offline marketing campaigns for startups and multinationals — and has the invaluable good sense to know which outreach strategies work with audiences, and which ones fall flat.

He authoritatively speaks your language. He speaks your CMO’s language. Most important, he’s fluent in your market’s language. It’s a killer double-chocolate-and-peanut-butter combination. Contact C.C. to learn how he can help your organization achieve its business goals. There’s, even more, to know about C.C. Chapman if you want to read it — and you should. C.C.’s skills are an embarrassment of riches.
