Most likely not, but rumors are swirling that Google might be working on their own virtual world.
The more I think about it the more interesting this becomes. Think about it. Google video? Ad-Words? Google Earth? Sketch Up? Put all of these together with avatars interacting and you’ve got one powerful POWERFUL place to hang out […]

It’s not decorated or anything like that, but I wanted to give a sneak peek at the newly renovated Dirty U-Turn.
This shot is from outside one of the windows. I’m standing behind the bar and you can see the stage in the far distance.

Last night crayon was one of the host islands for the Sundance Channel’s entrance into Second Life with the premiere of Four Eyed Monsters. We did not have anything to do with the event except to provide a screen and a theater for people to view the movie in.
This was the first full length film […]

A new friend just let me know about the DVD release party they are putting together on Monday in Second Life for the movie A Scanner Darkly. Talk about a perfect fit.
I know they’ve got some very cool stuff planned. My favorite of integrating party goers avatars right into scenes from the movie. I got […]

Some very good friends of mine let me know that they were starting up a new podcast that was going to focus on the art, music and culture of Second Life. I thought it was a great idea and told them so. They are calling it “Second Life Notes.”
Then they turn around and interviewed me […]

Right now I’m feeling pretty damn happy. Check that. I’m wired right now!
Tonight’s opening of the Virtual U-Turn Cafe in Second Life with a live performance by Uncle Seth from Toronto really went off very well. Tons of friends and strangers showed up. The sim was full and the music was rocking.
Damn good time all […]

I’m not sure what exactly is going on, but I’m in this mass of people on the Pontiac Sim in SL right now waiting for the taping for the Jay-Z performance on Jimmy Kimball tonight.
What exactly is happening? I’m not 100% sure. Here you can see Jay-Z and Jimmy warming up and getting use to […]

After the first couple of weeks with crayon being open for business in Second Life I took some time to reflect on just how difficult and different this is from my old days of just wandering around and exploring the world. I figured it would make the perfect topic for an episode of Managing the […]

I read the other day on the Second Life Herald about this avatar named Cardie Mahoney who was upset about the forthcoming rising land fees in Second Life and how it was going to effect the “oldest profession in the world.” I giggled about it because it was not something I thought or about or […]

Attended this months Second Thursdays in Second Life event which was a nice conversation with some of the publications that cover the events of SL.
Great attendance and some good information. I just wish that there has been voice. Reading text for so long with so many people gets old rather quickly.
Thanks to Eric Rice for […]

Driving down the road today listening to SecondCast #40 when I suddenly hear my name pop up. Sure, wasn’t ready for that one.
Sure, they called crayon a “PR company” which isn’t correct, but they still talked about us so that was very cool. Also great to hear the phrase “a neighbor of mine on Dirty” […]

Happy Halloween and Samhein!
I may not be dressing up in real life today because let’s face it, sitting around my house alone in a costume is just down right strange.
But, in Second Life of course I’m going to dress up a bit and have some fun. After all that is what it should always be […]

Here is a picture from today’s launch of crayon.
It makes me smile for multiple reasons with the biggest one being that it was taken at the end of the highly successful launch of crayon.
The other reason though is because I remember where this all started. June 6th of this year. (yes I had to look […]

Even as we gear up for the launch I just had my mind blown by something new in Second Life.
Check it out here.
Koz Farina of blogHUD! fame sent me to this page. It’s live streaming video from Second Life. He’s doing it on his home computer and this is early alpha phase so it might […]
