Setting Goals for 2012
Posted on December 5, 2011I woke up this morning and realized that it was the first Monday in the last month of 2011.
That means you’ve only got a few weeks to get everything completed that you wanted to this year and it is time you start planning for what to kick ass on in 2012.
I laid out several approaches that I believe you need to adopt in order to do this on the episode. Below are links to items I mentioned on the show.
- Passion Hit TV
- Chris Penn talks trial runs for your resolutions
- “Do the Work“ – Tom Webster
- Chris Brogan writing about December retreats
- My 3 Words from 2011 and 2010

Monday Motivation
Posted on October 24, 2011As we approach the end of the year, I know that a lot of people will start getting into a bit of a funk.
The holidays mixed with not reaching all the goals we set forth at the beginning of year make this a pretty common thing and I wanted to put this out there in the hopes that it will help you reach out for help if you need it or give it to those around you who could use a hand.

Manners & Basic Business Skills
Posted on June 1, 2011The road has kept me busy, but when you I see a constant trend in the world that I don’t like I’ve got to call it out. Today’s Managing the Gray is a bit more of a rant then I try to record around these parts, but I had to get it out there and say it.
At the end of the day if you want to be successful you need to make sure that you remember a combination of common sense, manners and basic business skills. For some reason people seem to think that as the online tools to connect with people become easier, that they can forget these things. I’m here to tell you otherwise.

Learning From Criticism
Posted on January 25, 2011While touring through Canada for Content Rules I got asked by more than one person when you’d hear the next Managing the Gray so as soon as I had a free minute I sat down in my hotel room to record a quick one.
Inspired by spending the day shooting photos and a post from someone I respected, I felt it was time to talk about how we can learn from criticism and why we need it in our lives to be successful

We Shouldn’t Fear Our Friends
Posted on December 21, 2010This morning I had a strange bit of serendipity happen between me and a couple of friends thousands of miles apart and I knew I had to discuss it on Managing the Gray.
As we get ready to flip the calendars to another year (and another decade) I think it is important that we not fear to ask our friends and connections to obtain our goals. Far to often we fear asking our closest friends for helps and we need to stop doing that if we are ever going to be successful.
Thank you to Tom Acousti and J.C. Hutchins for reminding me of that!
