I recently wrote about the importance of living a well rounded life and as soon as I hit publish I knew I had to share some more thoughts on it with you my dedicated podcast listeners.

2012 is drawing to a close and we each can help ourselves by experiencing new things. What are you going to try and experience in the new year?

    Listened to it this morning and I already know that I’ll listen to it again as I leave work today.

    For the first time, I have my three words for the new year: relearn, reassess, and reload. I thought that they had to do with career reinvention, but I have come to realize that it’s about life reinvention, not just the job. I am 39 years old and have spent the majority of my thirties being angry. That coupled with bitterness have taken their toll and have prevented me from taking chances and growing as a person. I go through most of my work days either numb or like a mercenary when I was made for compassion. It’s not a healthy way to go through life.

    If I have any hopes of being a better father/husband/human being, the internal work has to begin. Stepping outside of comfort zones has never been my strong point, but I’ve learned late in the year that change is inevitable. May as well take the first step willingly before being pushed off the cliff.
