Staree Launches
I love seeing people I know take ideas and turn them into businesses. Once again my buddy Ted Murphy has done it today with the unveiling of Staree.
This is a screenshot of my current page that you can find at http://staree.com/cc
Quoting from the announcement: "Staree allows users to post photos and videos from their mobile device or desktop, and share them with friends through Facebook and Twitter. Users make money from display advertising targeted to their content and product placement in photos and videos."
This certainly has a celebrity angle to it and with apps for Android and iPhone already available they are making it very easy to jump in and try it out.
I've been playing with it this morning and have already sent over several feature requests that I'd love to see happen to make this even more user friendly from both sides.
A few minutes ago, I got my first question from a fan and I quickly filmed a reply.
If you are interested you have to apply to become a member. I'm not sure what the velvet rope criteria is or how tough they are being at the moment, but there are definitely some interesting marketing angles here as the number of users grow.
I'll definitely be paying attention.
