mDialog Becomes a Client of The Advance Guard

Recently I went to NYC for an all day kick off meeting with a new client, but at that time couldn’t talk about who it was. Well, now I can. mDialogThe company is called mDialog and the quickest way to sum them up for me personally is that they provide high-resolution video hosting on the web. But, they are really so much more than that.

With forthcoming features such as secured narrowcasting, pay per channel and a survey engine that can be placed onto videos, they are really taking things to a whole new level for anyone wanting to provide high quality video content on the web.

One really sweet aspect of their whole offering is that all the encoding is done client side with their mLoader tool so you don’t have to worry about file size upload limits and waiting for the service to convert your file. It is done as fast as your processor(s) can make it happen.

Because they license and use the h.264 Advanced Video Codec from Apple, all the encoded videos will work on PCs, Macs, iPods, iPhones, and Apple TV. I love this because it means I can run the tool once and it will generate all the different files for me if I wish. The key to me is ease of use.

I can already tell that this is going to be a great relationship, because they are open to constructive criticism and really get the space they are entering and how not to do things. Steve and I are always selective in who we work with at The Advance Guard because we have to believe in the product offering before we can work with a client. After meeting with them in New York and being briefed on the innovative enhancements in the pipeline we are very comfortable with what they are about and where they are headed.

One thing that I know we’ve already discussed with them is the need to update the website to showcase all that mDialog has to offer because if you go there now it doesn’t do it as well as it should. I recommend checking out the press section which highlights some of the features and content that is coming to get a better feel for them.

We’ve got a lot of work to do and I’m excited to be the client lead on this. Plus, they fit a personal goal of mine to find a client in Toronto. *grin*

Look for some new video content from mDialog and The Advance Guard in relation to SXSW very soon. I already knew my time in Austin was going to be fun, but this adds to it for me.
