Connected Worry

BWI Airport Another morning starts with the news of another attack.

They've become too common and with the global climate as it is, I don't see them slowing down.

My heart aches. My brain goes into overdrive.

Of course at the same time I think about my kids and my family. We've talked about how to react and what to do if ever faced with something like this.

I'm a firm believer in being prepared.

But, this morning as I thought about it I realized that Emily doesn't currently have her phone.

Today, the phone is a vital connection device and her not having it that could cause problems if something went wrong.

Butterfly effect in full force.

A modern day parental dilemma.

If you take away a phone for even a day are you causing more stress to them or to you?

My heart goes out to those directly effected by the tragic events today. I've been checking in with friends and so far everyone I know in the area is ok.

It is a sad reality that this is the world we live in. These are the things parents have to think about every day.

A hug and an "I love you" as you close the door every morning.

A bit of worry always in the back of my mind.

Be safe out there.
